Train Harder as a Team

Functional Group Strength Training Led by Personal Trainers

Find your studio

Your First Session: What to Expect

New workouts are programmed daily. Here’s what you can expect in 45 minutes

Welcome

Your coach opens every class the same way:

“Welcome to K Effect, where we train harder as a team.”

It sums up our culture, and what you’ll find in every class: people who push and encourage each other to work hard and reach their goals.

Demo

Next, your coach walks you through the workout layout and demonstrates every exercise, so you know exactly what to do.

Warm-up

Then we turn the music up for a brief warm-up. Your coach will assign you to a group and tell you where to start

Workout

Next, the workout begins. Most sessions focus on Metabolic Resistance Training, a style that simply means:

Functional Strength Training that keeps you moving.

Compound exercises for real-life strength, at a pace that works your heart too, so you build muscle, develop stamina, and burn fat.

Workout

You and your group work through the stations together.

The screen shows every move.

At each station, the exercise, a countdown and the sets left are right in front of you, so you’re never guessing. When time’s up, you move on to the next.

Workout

While the screen shows you the form…

…your coach checks yours.

Your coach moves around the room during class, gets to know you, cheers you on, hypes you up to go heavier, and fixes your form when needed

Cool-down

When the 45 minutes is up, we cool down. Together we stretch it out, listen to what’s coming up at the studio, and catch up with the people you trained with.

Welcome to the team

The workout makes you stronger. The people keep you showing up.

  • We’re glad you’re here

Our front desk and coaches will welcome you in, and make a point of getting to know you.

  • Work out with friends, not strangers

Train alongside the regulars, and they quickly become friends who expect to see you.

  • Team events every month

Kickball, volleyball, potlucks, hikes and themed workouts: a chance to strengthen your friendships, in the studio and out.

Commit to change with the 6-week challenge

Starting is the hardest part. We give you a goal, a plan, and a coach, so you see results quickly and keep going.

  • Results that build confidence

A goal to lose fat and build muscle, measured on a body scan, so you look better and feel more confident.

  • Habits that last

Three workouts a week and a food plan built around foods you like, so the habits stick after week six.

  • Support at every step

In-person check-ins, a scan at the halfway mark, and a coach you can message any time.

Questions before your first class

What kind of workouts do you do?

Metabolic Resistance Training. We put more emphasis on functional strength training than most boutique fitness studios, so expect to lift weights! Just show up and follow along: you and your team move from station to station, a screen at each station shows the move, and your coach comes around to guide you.

Is every workout the same?

No. Four days a week are lifting days: full, upper or lower body. Two are HIIT (high-intensity interval training): short, hard bursts of cardio. Each month follows a plan, with small changes each week, so you progress without repeating a class. Tap one on the schedule to see the workout and the description.

Do I need to be in shape first?

No. Your coach shows you every movement and scales it to where you are. New people start every week, many have never lifted before.

I have an injury. Can I still train?

Check with your doctor to make sure you are good to go if you have had a recent injury. Tell your coach before class: knees, backs, shoulders, whatever it is. We’ll find a version of each move that works for you.

How often should I come?

It’s up to you, but we recommend three per week to start. Any class counts, and you can mix lifting and HIIT days however you like.

How old are your members?

Members range from 18 all the way to members in their 70s. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian signs your waiver and must come with you

What does it cost?

Your price depends on how many classes a week you want, how long you sign up for, and any intro offer. After your free class, we’ll walk you through the options. Sessions are $25 per visit if not billed on a membership or bundled in a Transformation Program

What does ‘K Effect’ mean?

It’s named after the Köhler effect: a study done where people work out harder as part of a team than on their own. That’s why at every workout we say "we train harder as a team." Come see the difference for yourself!
